I have a degree in History of Art and have been a researcher of one kind or another for most of my professional life. I am now available to carry out research on the history of houses and buildings and the people who lived or worked in them.
I am based in Nottinghamshire and can access archives in Nottingham and the surrounding area.
If you’d like to find out who lived in your house through time or maybe you want to discover if a renowned architect was involved in designing your property, please contact me to arrange a research package. Initial research package to establish the potential of further research: £57

Cost: The fee for initial research is £57 – This involves collating any pre-existing knowledge about the property, checking maps and available sources to establish if further in-depth or archival research will be possible. It can then be determined if further time will be required to find out more about a property and its former residents. (For properties built between around 1800 and 1920, for older properties more time may be required).
Standard ongoing research fee: £30 per hour or an agreed package rate on a case by case basis. Payment can be made via bank transfer or PayPal.
Terms and Conditions: Additional expenses incurred from visits to archives, document charges, photography permits, picture rights, printing etc., will be charged at cost, in addition to the hourly rate. Email correspondence is included in the overall fee.
If you would like a tailored package, please specify your requirements or budget.
The results will be presented in an emailed document with links to online resources.
